Philips Lighting Group Quality Improvement Competition Asia Semi-Final 2009 | 10-20 May 2009


Angkor Palace Resort & Spa was selected as the venue for teams from Philips Lighting to compete in the 10-day long semi-finals of the Philip Lighting Group Quality Improvement Competition Asia in May.

Over 200 participants including jury members from China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Korea, Singapore, Holland and Britain (Jury and organizers) converged in Siem Reap for a series of activities to compete for a place in the semi-finals for the world final in Marrakesh in June.

The teams from national representatives of Philips Lighting offices in Asia presented various ideas to improve their quality services such as cost and energy savings as well as environmentally friendly operations to the jury. Other non-competition activities included lunch at the floating village at Tonle Sap Lake and a sunset visit to the legendary Angkor Wat…

With such a busy schedule, the participants have vowed to return to Siem Reap for a more leisurely holiday!

Angkor Palace Resort & Spa named ‘Bridges’ Hotel partner


The International Peace Foundation has appointed Angkor Palace Resort & Spa as the official hotel partner in Siem Reap for the 3rd ASEAN event series "Bridges -Dialogues towards a Culture of Peace".

HSH Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the International Peace Foundation, will officially launch the ASEAN event on 28 April in Phnom Penh.
The event will consist of 50 major "Bridges", which will take place in Cambodia continuously from November 2009 to April 2010.

The ASEAN event has already received confirmation that Nobel Laureates for Economics, Peace, Physics, Chemistry and Medicine as well as with other eminent keynote speakers and artists including world-renowned pianist and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy and Prof. Lord Anthony Giddens from the London School of Economics will participate.

As the official "Bridges" partner hotel in Siem Reap, Angkor Palace Resort & Spa will host complimentary accommodation and breakfast for the estimated 10 Nobel Laureates and keynote speakers of the "Bridges" event series.
